14.09.2008 Russian Chess Championship just has finished

Artem Timofeev from Kazan is the winner of 61 Russian Chess Championship. He got 8 points of 11 rounds and left behind his rivals - Nikita Vitugov and Ernesto Inarkiev. In last round Artem made a draw in a difficult position.

First places are:
1. Artem Timofeev
2. Nikita Vitugov
3. Ernesto Inarkiev
4. Konstantin Maslak
5. Alexandr Lastin
6. Alexandr Ryazantsev

All of them will play in super-final of Russian Chess Championship which will be held in Moscow.

 
 

 

 

09.09.2008 Russian Chess Championship - half of tournament has been passed

High level of all participants means their high results. 3 of them - Vitugov, Nepomniaschiy and Timofeev - have got 4,5 of 6 games. Motylev, Lastin, Maslak, Ryazantsev, Inarkiev, Volkov, Galkin, Kobalia, Grachev and Smirnov have 4 of 6 games.

Next group - players with 3,5 - includes Landa, Zviagintsev, Kryakvin, Sakaev, Kokarev, Khalifman, Bocharov and Lysiy.

 
 

 

 

02.09.2008 Russian Chess Championship will start

60 international masters and grandmasters will take place in this great tournament. 30 of them are in world chess top 100. 3 players will be from Novokuznetsk: international grandmaster Sergey Iskusnyh; international grandmaster Pavel Smirnov who won bronze medal in World University Chess Championship in march 2008; and young perspective FIDE master Anton Klimov.

Igor Bolotinskiy, the most experienced arbiter from Peterbourg, chairman of Russian Chess Federation arbiters collegiums will be chief arbiter of tournament.

Tournament will be held in Big Hall of city Administration which was opened this summer, before 'City day' celebration. All participant and arbiters will have most comfortable conditions for play and rest.
